Since 1971, Southeast Dermatology has been serving the Pasadena and Southeast Houston areas.  We have since grown to accommodate the needs of Friendswood, Pearland, Clear Lake, Baytown, Channelview, Deer Park, La Porte, and beyond.  With two convenient locations, our board certified dermatologists hope to provide you with unsurpassed care.  Our physicians pursue ongoing education and offer a broad base of experience in treating diseases of the skin, hair and nails in patients of all ages.  We also specialize in rejuvenating and maintaining healthy skin.  Southeast Dermatology now offers Mohs Surgery for the removal of skin cancer.  We accept most major insurance plans.  At Southeast Dermatology, our priority is to deliver quality care to informed patients in a comfortable and convenient setting.

We are proud to announce that our Southeast Houston location near Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital moved to Medical Plaza 1, 11914 Astoria Blvd, Suite 570, Houston, TX 77089.  The space is larger and newly remodeled  to better accommodate patient care.  Complimentary valet parking available.

  • Manuel Davila
    M.D.

    Dr. Davila is a board-certified dermatologist, and a native of Houston, Texas.  He attended Harvard University for his undergraduate studies.  He received his medical degree in May of 2000 from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.  In 2001, Dr. Davila completed a transitional year residency at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.  In 2004, he completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center.  He joined Southeast Dermatology in 2004 where he continues to practice dermatology.  He has been professionally recognized as a 'Top Doctor,' as seen in Texas Monthly, and a 'Rising Star Super Doctor' in 2013 and 2014.

  • Mary Garman
    M.D.

    Mary Garman, MD, is diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and native of Clear Lake City.  She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction in 1997 and earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center in 2002.  She continued on at Baylor for both internship and residency, serving as Chief Resident in Dermatology during her final year.  Dr. Garman is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is active in other professional societies, including the Houston Dermatological Society and the Harris County Medical Society. She joined Southeast Dermatology in 2006 and practices at the Pasadena location in the greater Clear Lake area.  Her primary focus is general medical dermatology, geriatric dermatology, and dermatologic surgery. She regularly participates in community volunteer activities.  Dr. Garman lives in League City and enjoys spending time with her three teenagers, painting, and enjoying nature. She has been professionally recognized as a 'Top Doctor,' as seen in Texas Monthly, and a 'Rising Star Super Doctor.'

    M.D.

    A. John Ghorbani, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and a native of Sugar Land, TX.  He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991 and earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1993.  He completed both his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee at Memphis, serving as chief resident in dermatology his final year.  Dr. Ghorbani is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is active in other professional societies, including the Houston Dermatological Society and the Harris County Medical Society.  He has been with Southeast Dermatology since 1997.

  • Christine Hunt
    M.D.

    Christine Hunt, MD, is originally from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and is board-certified in dermatology.  She graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a degree in biomedical engineering.  She then earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she graduated as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  Dr. Hunt completed an internship at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and subsequently relocated to the “great state of Texas” where she completed a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident during her final year.  She is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a member of the Houston Dermatological Society, the Harris County Medical Society, as well as the Texas Medical Association.  Dr. Hunt enjoys a varied practice of general medical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology along with dermatologic surgery.  She currently lives in Friendswood with her family.  Her outside interests include travel, camping, tennis, and cooking.

  • Paula F. Leis
    M.D.

    Dr. Leis has over 17 years of experience in the field of cosmetic dermatology.  Dr. Leis performs all the cosmetic precedures herself, including: chemical peels, sclerotherapy, Botox, Dysport, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, Belotero, and Sculptra Aesthetic.  Dr. Leis is one of only a very few physicians in the greater Houston area who has achieved a Platinum Staus with Sculptra Aesthetic.  Being a 'baby boomer' herself, she understands the emotional and physical issues of aging.

    Dr. Leis and her husband reside in Houston and have three grown children.  Her hobbies include quilting, reading, scuba diving, and snow skiing.  Dr. Leis is also very involved in her church.

  • Janet Li
    M.D.

    Dr. Janet Li is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. A Florida native, she graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her interest in dermatology developed during medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and a dermatology residency at the University of Texas in Houston and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. During this time, she served as Chief Resident. She completed her Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she was trained in Mohs surgery and advanced facial reconstruction.

    Dr. Li specializes in Mohs, facial reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She has authored several textbook chapters on reconstructive surgery and her journal articles on Mohs and reconstructive surgery have been published in top journals including the Lancet, JAAD, Dermatologic Surgery, JAMA Dermatology. She enjoys reading, hiking, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her two cats.

  • Isha Lopez
    M.D.

    Dr. Lopez is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a native Houstonian. She attended Houston Baptist University for her undergraduate studies, and in 2011 completed her medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed an internship year at Baylor College of Medicine, and then went back to UT Southwestern where she finished her dermatology residency in 2015. Dr. Lopez’s interests include skin of color, general dermatology, skin cancer prevention, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She is equally passionate about health and educational disparities among minority populations and mentoring youth. She enjoys Crossfit, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is fluent is Spanish.

    M.D.

    Dr. Wendy Magee is a board-certified dermatologist and has been in practice with Southeast Dermatology since 1998.  She grew up in Sugarland TX and completed her undergraduate degree at Rice University in 1990.  She received her doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine in 1994 and completed her dermatology residency in 1998 at Cornell Weill Presbyterian in New York.  She is a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of both the Harris County Medical Society and the Houston Dermatological Society.  She enjoys a busy general dermatology practice but also enjoys dermatologic surgery and cosmetic laser procedures.  She lives in Pearland with her husband, daughter and four Boston terriers.  Dr. Magee has been recognized as Best Dermatologist by the Reader's Choice edition of Pearland & Friendswood Living magazine in 2013.

  • Matthew Petitt
    D.O.

    Matthew Petitt, DO, joined Southeast Dermatology in 2011 and is triple board-certified in several medical specialties including Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.  He was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan.  He graduated first in his medical school class at Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical School as the only 'Graduate with Distinction'.  Dr. Petitt subsequently completed a pathology residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then completed a dermatopathology fellowship and dermatology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  He currently practices clinical dermatology, dermatologic surgery and dermatopathology.  Dr. Petitt lives in League City with his family. He enjoys attending his local church and loves serving the wonderful people in Pasadena and the greater Clear Lake area.  He is proud to call Texas home.  He was recognized in the Pasadena Citizen's 2013 Reader's Choice Best Dermatologist for Pasadena and Deer Park.

    M.D.

    Dr. Elizabeth D. Schepp is a board-certified dermatologist who joined Southeast Dermatology in 2017. Although she grew up mostly in Louisiana, she has called Houston home for many years. Dr. Schepp graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. She then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she earned her medical degree and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in her junior year. She also completed both her internal medicine internship and her dermatology residency at UTMB in Galveston. Dr. Schepp is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society. She lives in Pearland with her husband and their dog. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

  • ELIZABETH K. PETITT
    DNP, APRN, FNP-C, DCNP

    Elizabeth Petitt, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, DCNP is a certified Dermatology Nurse Practitioner (DCNP) and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Petitt completed her undergraduate nursing degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in 1997 and began working in the UTMB Dermatology clinic in 1999. She graduated with high honors from the nurse practitioner program at The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008 and after two years in family medicine, practiced at the UTMB Dermatology clinic from 2010-2022. She earned her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2018 with a published doctoral project focused on skin cancer prevention. She was named the Outstanding Doctor of Nursing Practice for her graduating class. In 2019, she was inducted into The Academy of Master Clinicians at UTMB, a selective distinction which exemplifies professionalism, compassion, and excellence in patient-centric care. She practices both pediatric and adult dermatology. Ms. Petitt joined Southeast Dermatology in 2023 and practices at both locations.
